Pucca Posted January 25, 2007 definatly not my type of scarf...not something i'd notice thats for sure *doesnt exactly 'catch' the eye ya know* but why do you find it pathetic?
Lake Posted January 25, 2007 I thought I said the reason I find it pathetic...When the Keffiyah is being worn as some fashion scarf. I understand some wear it for a symbol of support for the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation...But Many many many of them are just sheeps..They're just following a trend. -Nomadique- Posted January 25, 2007 On my university campus there are a few non muslims (men and women) who wear it like the picture above. They are all members of Leftist groups such as the Socialist Alliance etc. It has become a symbol of resistance in general and more specifically it represents support for the Palestinian cause. -Nomadique- Posted January 25, 2007 Its possible that it has become fashionable. There are plenty of people who wear shirts with Che Guevera on it and if you ask them about him they will hardly know anything about what he stood for.
Shakti Posted January 25, 2007 ^ well dear, why would they know anything about a sol member? :confused... r u sure their shirts has che guevera on it?
-Nomadique- Posted January 25, 2007 No sis Che Guevara is a famous figure in history. Our fellow SOL member named himself after him. You may recognise him. This is what he looks like. Here is an example of T-shirts people often wear. More Information on Che Hope that helps.
