galbeedi Posted May 10, 2018 Look at Somaliland, after almost thirty years, there is zero judiciary. I think what we need is order and peace. It seems that rules and regulations are threat to the leaders.
Old_Observer Posted May 10, 2018 3 hours ago, maakhiri1 said: This whole federalism is garbage. Gedo needs to create their own maamul that reports to Mogadishu, directly without going thro illiterate Madoobe. How sure are you that Gedo can form fair and equitable government to all its inhabitants? People are I think looking at this from Kismayo Gedo comparison and competition. As soon as you have Gedo as maamul then it becomes a body with its own next level conflict and then soon the talk of having autonomous maamul there. In my opinion the Federal constitution need to be ratified ASAP. what ever is agreed at this time. Then at least you have uniform relation well defined between SFG and States. Big state or small state. As for Federalism it was expected to work in Somalia much easier than in India, Canada or Ethiopia. The Federal system in Somalia is not ratified. In practicality its still draft and even the draft there are fundamental structural issues that have not been turned to constitution. Unitary system, I think now is too late. The best thing is hurry up and ratify the constitution. A lot of groups and regions want to get stronger before Federal system is ratified and implemented, so they can influence some articles to their advantage. Federalism is messy and duplication and expensive, but the alternative is even more expensive and deadly.
Holac Posted May 10, 2018 That flag still intrigues me. What is the story Dabrow? The design gives a hint of socialism/communism. Is it a nod to socialism under Siyaad? I don't know. I am just trying to understand why that particular design, so similar to the Cuban flag, was chosen to inaugurate grassroots movement under Madoobe's Jubaland shadow.
