Aaliyyah Posted October 8, 2009 Bell and TELUS to Launch Apple's iPhone Come November Rogers loses iPhone exclusivity By Ionut Arghire, Mobile Editor 7th of October 2009, 06:17 GMT Adjust text size: Apple's iPhone comes to Canada via Bell and Telus too Canadian mobile phone carriers Bell and TELUS announced on Tuesday that they recently reached new agreements with Apple for the distribution of the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in the country starting with November 2009. Bell and TELUS raise this way the number of wireless operators in Canada to have Apple's device available for their subscribers to three, after Rogers Wireless has had it exclusively for quite some time now. Following the recent reports that Apple will have its iPhone distributed in the UK through more carriers, including Orange and Vodafone, due to O2 losing the exclusivity on the device, the news that Rogers has stepped on the same path might only suggest that the same could soon happen to other carriers around the world, including AT&T in the US. As for the launch of the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS with the two new carriers in Canada, it should be rather interesting to see the way things evolve. Orange and Vodafone in the UK said they would have the iPhone available for their users in early 2010, and, since the two Canadian operators will have it next month, we'll get an idea of what might happen with AT&T in case it loses the iPhone exclusivity by watching Rogers. Bell has just announced that it will start to roll out a brand-new HSPA network next month, in cooperation with TELUS, and the two launches seem to be timed perfectly. Things might run smoothly for the two carriers with the launch of iPhone 3G and 3GS, especially since Rogers has seen its share of criticism in the past, just as AT&T did quite a few times before. Both carriers said they would unveil more details on the exact availability and pricing of the iPhone within the following weeks, and TELUS fans can already sign up for more information and for updates on the matter on the carrier's website here. Libaax-Sankataabte Posted October 9, 2009 Apple may be hiding something. A tablet computer (ipod on steroids) is the latest buzz on tech blogs. If true, I'would be the first one to get one. Hopefully we will hear something about it in the next few months.
peasant Posted October 9, 2009 ^ The tablet rumor was on the net long before apple released the unibody macbooks. Now i think it is even gaining more credibility since apple needs to release a new product in time for Christmas. As for the the iphone video, the bloody thing already had a camera to begin with, I dont know why that feature wasnt added to gadget in the first shot. Perhaps it is all business games. Nin-Yaaban Posted October 9, 2009 The iPhone is really great, but whats up with signing up for 2yr contract and $80 monthly plan? I think thats turning alot of potential buyers away.
Silver Posted April 11, 2010 iPhone 4.0 OS Features (Summer 2010) Notable new features for users ("tentpoles" are in bold): * Multitasking. * Spell check (like on the iPad). * Bluetooth keyboard support (again, on the iPad). * User-defined wallpaper (a jailbreak favorite). * Tap to focus when recording video, just like with photos, and a 5x digital zoom for the camera. * Playlist creation and nested playlists. * App folders for sorting apps! You can even put an app folder in the dock. * Enhanced Mail! You can have a merged inbox view, switch between inboxes quickly, and sync to more than one Exchange account. There's also threaded messaging (at last!) and in-app attachment viewing. * iBooks, just like on iPad, only smaller. You can wirelessly sync books between platforms, a la Kindle. * Enterprise features, including remote device management and wireless app distribution. * Game Center. It's like Xbox Live, but for iPhone games. Includes achievements, leaderboards, and match making. It will be available as a "developer preview," and out for consumers later this year. Source I'm glad I held off when the 3gs came out Although not really looking forwards to the iAd.
