NGONGE Posted August 10, 2008 ^^ These days I've gone all Egyptian and only listen to their stuff. I mean how dare fat face Al Jasmi grace the same stage as the lovely Nancy? But the main man these days is Tamer Hosni (with English subtitles) (I know Nancy is not Egyptain).
Urban Posted August 11, 2008 Nancy? NANCY? Don't tell me it's shaatir shaatir or shakhbat kharabiit This one's for you Ngonge, gotta love the clapping in these sittings. Watch the 'sharax' dancing near the end *And that walrus in a dishdasha you're talking about is the sh*t these days.* Hayam, have you heard of Miami Band? They're quite 90s.. Miriam1 Posted August 11, 2008 Al Jasmi is hot! lol glad you found the song, its nice. Yea I know of them, used to dance to some of their songs with my sister, but can't remember much now...memories walahi. I am reminided this song by عبدالمجيد عبدالله " Raheeb"....oh my god! did I love this song, memorised word for word. He always had sick videos too...I remember the girl in it wore a pokadot dress, I hope someone can find the video! Oh and I hope you guys know this one too. Urban Posted August 11, 2008 Memories indeed, Hayam. Here is the song Raheeb, but the original video is not on youtube. Have you heard the Fatma Qaasim version of this song? At one time it was sung in every somali wedding. Ngonge's too maybe.. This however, is my fav song from Abdul Majeed, it's just on another level. Is the song you meant about miami band was called 'caashoo' by any chance, it's on this list. I think this song was their biggest hit tho, gharaamak shai cajiib. This is all 90s stuff, the best decade by far!
NGONGE Posted August 12, 2008 Hot? More like one of the reasons for global warming. Heh. Lets take a break from songs for a second and listen to this great Sudani poet Here is North wearing a dishdaasha and dancing to an old favourite: Yawar Yawar

Miriam1 Posted August 12, 2008 Oh my, these khaligee men look really off without thier dishdasha and egal. Urban, I just noticed I didn't finish my sentence there, no I was thinking of this Ehab Tawfiq song from the 90's...I am going to be so vague here, but all I clearly remember is the video...like all his video's there's a story line. He leaves the country to make money, comes back to find her married to someone else...lots of stairwell scenes, tis all about betrayal...and its not Ayam El Helwa! Edit Found it Malhomsh Fi Al Tayeb
Urban Posted August 14, 2008 Hayam, how are you sis? Thanks for finding that Ehab song, it used to be my fav song when it came out. I've been searching for it ages ago but gave up.. I'm sure you also know the other song called 'Tetraga feya'.. Speaking of which, have you heard his song called Illa rasool allah..? Ngonge, I've never heard of that poem before but it was good, and i'm not Sudani! You're the zole, not me
Miriam1 Posted August 15, 2008 Tetraga feya, has such a nice beat! Yea, I was in conference in Toronto the 'RIS' where he sang that song, had to miss it, so I could catch the last train, he came on so late, past midnight on Sunday...
