Somaliland President sends his condolences to families of Legendary Somali singer

Hargeisa—President is sending his condolences to the families and Somali community after a legendary Somali singer died in Hargeisa on Wednesday.

“Behalf of our nation, our thoughts and prayers are with our beloved singer, her family and everybody of Somali people, May Allah grants his mercy and paradise to Sahra Ahmed Jama,” said Muse Bihi Abdi.

Jama, who was 62, had been a member of Waaberi Group, Wabari which literally means ‘dawn’ is a Somali musical supergroup that she rose to fame when she joined the group in 1969.

She has been living in Hargeisa after she retired from the music and died after a short bout with an undisclosed illness.

Thousands of Somalis shared their condolences on Twitter, Facebook and other Social media sites.
