Khayr Posted January 5, 2006 Salams, This sounds like the movie 'SYRIANA'....something sounds very fishy as to how he died. What was he doing in Aussie land anyways. Do any of you know that Dubai is the LAS VEGAS of the EAST and Europeans love to go there because of its lax laws. It definitely is DUBAI INC.

N.O.R.F Posted January 7, 2006 illahay ha unaxaristo Faithful throng mosques to pray for leader By Diaa Hadid, Staff Reporter Dubai: Muslims prayed for Shaikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum yesterday in mosques all over Dubai after Friday sermons. The Jumeirah mosque was crowded with worshippers yesterday, who listened to the imam talk about Shaikh Maktoum. Worshippers had spilled outside the mosque and sat on the cool paving stones outside and underneath trees. "He was one of the first to establish the UAE, and he gave so much to the UAE in general and to Dubai specifically. His charitable works will not be forgotten, especially the Islamic centres in London," said imam Fu'ad Gazi. "He was one of the first to establish the UAE, and he gave so much to the UAE in general and to Dubai specifically. His charitable works will not be forgotten, especially the Islamic centres in London," said imam Fu'ad Gazi. After Gazi finished his sermon, he began leading worshippers in a series of supplications for Allah to allow Shaikh Maktoum into the highest parts of heaven. The traditional response to a supplication the word Ameen was said loudly and emotionally. "There was a blanket of sadness covering the worshippers," Gazi said later, "they were all following the supplications in a loud voice, you could see they were emotionally moved." The scene was the same across the hundreds of large and small mosques dotted all over Dubai, worshippers said. Meanwhile, a Haj tour operator has dedicated the pilgrimage trips of his company to the soul of Shaikh Maktoum. Dr Saif Al Jabiri, Deputy Ameer of the trip, expressed shock at the sudden death of Shaikh Maktoum. He offered his condolences to the Ruling families and the people of the UAE. Catholics service The large Catholic community in Dubai yesterday held a special mass in memory of Shaikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum at St Mary's Church. Father Peter P. Matthew held a solemn high mass yesterday before thousands of worshippers "to praise Shaikh Maktoum, to thank God for the gifts God has given through him to the country, people at large and the Catholic community in Dubai," he said. Thousands of people crowded St Mary's Church while many more stood outside. During the service, a decorated picture of Shaikh Maktoum was presented, adorned with flowers and lights for worshippers to pay homage to him. Stephen George, 45, a plan manager, said he was praying "for Shaikh Maktoum's soul because he was a great man". M.L. Thomas, 48, marketing assistant and 25-year veteran of Dubai as well as the coordinator of the Malayalee Catholic Congregation at St Mary's Church, said he was attending the mass because "Shaikh Maktoum was a pious man. Shaikh Rashid was also a pious man, a great man who gave religious freedom. Shaikh Maktoum followed his father. I remember all the good things he did for the religious communities in Dubai". Qandalawi Posted January 7, 2006 As if the Raxma, blessing and generosity of Allah has a limit, thus lets not cut short from our relatives, or better yet do for them before it run out. Bishaaro Nacam ducada dadkaaga way kaaga baahanyihiin(Miyuunan isaga kamid ahayn considering him being one of the Umma Mislima), Laakiin qofka Muslimka dhinta waa loo duceeyaa ee laguma jeesjeeso, Aaahey saa u tiri runti mafiicna kanoqo ugowna adiga iyo isaga inaad usimantihiin dhimashada! Laakiin waan dareemi kara hadalkaa markaa tiri waxaa kuu muuqday lacagti, amiirnimadi iyo kabadbadinti laga badbadiyay, anigana kalmadaada markan arkay waxa ii muuqaday daciifnimda tabardarida naxashka ciida lagu wado iyo god mugdi ah aanu iska celin karin, waa waqti aanan lagu jeesjeesin qofku markuu sidaa uliito. Exactly my sentiment, sometime you have to feel some sympathy for the person, whoever he was or use to be GEERI definetely makes him/her someone to be felt for, sympathized for, alas at this deserving moment.
