The UK House of Commons briefing paper - a bad score card for Cheeseman

Recommended Posts

The gist of the report:

1. After a year in power, Cheeseman has very little to show for any of the key pillars of the London Conference.

2. Cheeseman is facing a lot of challenges from Unuka Leh to the wider Geopolitical power plays

3. Cheeseman has lost credibility and is now becoming more and more frustrated

4. Western powers are loosing faith

 5. Talks with Somaliland won't be happening anytime soon.

Very concerned about elections in 2021, security deterioration, alshabaab gaining ground...

Somalia: March 2018 update

Somalia: March 2018 update

Reading the summary, I thought a Somalilander parliamentary assistant sliped it into the records, on second thought I supposed the Somalilanders have bought a British official and since when empires fall become so corrupt, its possible even to buy a general of an empire to start some war.

But then it downed on me that the PM is British business influenced man.

All in all such things are a harbinger of not so good things to expect. President Farmaajo may need to pay a visit to London and get the Somalis there to show their support. That is one way to fight papers/records like this.

1. After a year in power, Cheeseman has very little to show for any of the key pillars of the London Conference.

They never honored the outcome of last London Conference and one before with president Mohamud Sheikh.

2. Cheeseman is facing a lot of challenges from Unuka Leh to the wider Geopolitical power plays.

Ununka has no problem with this government. Their side of Mogadishu has been the safest part of the city. They are not complaining rather Galgaduud has been loudest.

Yes, there is the wider Geopolitical power plays. And U.K and other western countries are with UAE. Farmaajo has done everything to maintain natural.

3. Cheeseman has lost credibility and is now becoming more and more frustrated

Not true. He is most liked Somali politician for decades.

4. Western powers are losing faith.

They never had any faith but still, want to hold all the cards what is going on there

 5. Talks with Somaliland won't be happening anytime soon.

With DP world and UAE involvement should not happen at all

Old_Observer,

You do know I take it the Brits have an actual embassy there on the ground in Mogadishu, where British spooks (MI6) are there to "smell" the air. Report back what is going on in the ground in Mogadishu, through the chain-of-the-command, to their higher up to all the way to London. And be privy to what actually going on in the ground in Mogadishu and in the wider Somalia.

Hence, once the UK's officials writes report about this sort, you can be darn sure they are not "basing" their conclusion on some little innuendo or gossip they have heard on the "street corner". But on solid lead and on the basis of a "verified information".

Which means report like this will simply means the UK's diplomatic view of Mr Farmaajo's government is not flattering to say the least.

And from this point onward, the UK's government will quietly but with a determined steps take a "hasty retreat" from their original political support the UK's government had "extended" to him when he first assumed the presidency of the federal government last year.

The British can do both: Example your way the normal way that made them great britain, british empire influencing half the world

in 1913 Ethiopia was ruled by Prince. This prince was designated to be emperoror by Menelik (Minelik grandson by daughter no male projeny). This prince wanted to expel British from Somaliland, France from Djibouti and Italy from Eritrea. He made few trips to Somaliland and British were spying on him. He met the Sayid and British spied on him, he always met German ambassador and the prince was raised by german nanny and german teachers, he met Turkish Ottoman Ambassador always and the British were spying both. All reports were sent your way and when 1st WW was close they decided must be removed. Created fake news that the Prince has converted to Islam...etc the rest is history he was gone

My suspicion on this report card, or my corrupted way:

In 1942 the British brought king haileslassie back from his refuge of 5 years in England and restored him as king of Ethiopia. In Tigray and Gojjam people rebelled stating cannot be ruled by an escapee, king that run away to safety leaving his people under mustard gas bombardment. Some British official did not explain, but asked sir Winston Churchil that if Haileslassie is overthrown British colonies are in danger. Sir winston churchil ordered war against the rebels with some 8,000 british forces, but was not enough and he ordered incendiary bombs (that later used in german cities) to be used. Aircraft from Asmara were not enough and brought from Yemen. The rebels whose name was Weyannie were defeated, that is where the name comes from. A British general no less did not know that a reported to Churchil and decision came down as he asked why are we bombing our allies against Italy?

Yours is normal and common way, but mine can slip from time to time.

And in fact, he will be much more in troubles, henceforth, since, to get the federal constitution pass and get one person one vote in Somalia in 2020, actually such "task" was "predicated" on the conclusion of the talks between Somalia and Somaliland.

Memebers of Federal Parliament and even senators will fight this one tooth and nail and now with forks. One man one vote means they have to atleast do more walking, more driving, more talking to "lesser" non clan connected folks...Its like American senators and congress passing election act to eliminate all the loopholes currently in use.

They will even try to impeach him, if they cannot find issue to delay the constitutional file.
