Holac Posted March 23, 2018 It appears billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk is taking #deletefacebook seriously. During a tweetstorm on Friday, Musk nonchalantly erased Tesla and SpaceX's Facebook accounts. The abrupt move came after a Twitter user urged him to delete his company's accounts from the world's most popular social media platform. Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk abruptly deleted the Facebook pages for his companies SpaceX and Tesla on Friday afternoon. The move came after he tweeted: 'What's Facebook?' Both pages had roughly 2.6 billion 'likes' but had been deleted as of this afternoon. It also appears that Musk has removed Tesla subsidiary Solar City's Facebook page unprompted. Another user then sent him a screenshot of Tesla's Facebook account saying 'This should be deleted too right?' To that, Musk responded: 'Definitely. Looks lame anyway.' It looks like Musk's Instagram account, which counts 6.9 million followers, is here to stay, however. Several Twitter users asked him if he would be deleting his personal Instagram account, considering that the social media platform is owned by Facebook. He said Instagram is 'probably OK' but that deleting SpaceX, Tesla and Solar City's Facebook accounts was an easy decision, given that he 'doesn't use [Facebook] and never has.' That said, Musk tweeted that he believes Facebook's influence has been slowly 'creeping in' to Instagram.
