A teenage boy was driving the Mazda MX-6 when it veered off a road and crashed through a fence in Ajax, Ont. Teen charged in crash that killed two classmates toronto.ctv.ca Two teenaged boys are dead and their classmate is charged with criminal negligence causing their deaths after a single-vehicle accident in Ajax, east of Toronto. Witnesses told police that a Mazda MX-6 was travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on Audley Road, north of Taunton Road, on Sunday morning when it lost control and veered off the road. The vehicle crashed through a fence and rolled over several times, coming to rest in a field, Durham Regional Police said. A 15-year-old boy from Etobicoke, who was a passenger, was ejected in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, a 15-year-old from Laval, Que., was also pronounced dead at the scene. The 14-year-old driver, a boy from Ajax, was treated for minor injuries and later released. Police have charged him with two counts of criminal negligence causing death. The accused, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, appeared in court via video on Monday and was to return on Tuesday for a bail hearing. Police said speed and driver inexperience are factors in the collision. Sgt. Paul McCurbin called it a "tragic" situation. The teens all attended a Muslim boarding school in Ajax. Classmates told CTV Toronto the driver had purchased the vehicle on Friday for $400. The two victims were laid to rest on Monday, one in Etobicoke and the other near Montreal. Mourners who gathered at the Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque in Etobicoke were shocked and saddened by the event. "It's terrible, it shouldn't have happened," said one man. "It's irresponsible for a 14-year-old to get behind the wheel," imam Adam Asse told reporters. Anyone with information regarding this collision or the activities of either involved parties prior to the collision are asked to call police at 905-579-1520 ext 5267. Anonymous tips can be made to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). With reports from CTV Toronto's Matet Nebres and Jim Junkin Please add these two 15 yrs old boys in your prayers, May Allah grant them pradise.
