Ms MoOns Posted October 7, 2010 MsMoons, that safe "jidka" the milk lady used to sit must have been another city. Surely, Mogadihsu wasn't a safe place when you were 4 yrs old! It was definitely Mogadishu. I know where im from. My grandpa and all still live there y'know. I meant 'safe' as in .. you belong somewhere, idon't feel like belong here, dhuulka gaalada, y'know what im saying? idk i can't really explain, besides i was just a kid. And i know it wasn't THAT safe .. my mum told me i almost got killed a few times .. don´t remember that though. I remember the good times, which im gonna hold on to
Gheelle.T Posted October 7, 2010 I thought 1994 Mogadisho was not any safer than it's today, but I could be wrong.
Sophist Posted October 7, 2010 I am not known to be emotional chap, but seeing these pics, I was overcome by intense emotion- longing for the homeland! Although I live in Kenya these days and I see alot of Somalis hadana, this makes me home sick!. I might be off to Mogadishu soon though I can't sleep there (or go to my usual old haunts)for security reasons, nevertheless I am intensely looking forward to it.
