FB, old Xamar is alive in people's memories and the new Xamar, the current Xamar, is creating memories (both bad and good I'm sure) in the people that live there now. The city hasn't died yet. As Lily pointed out, it will be rebuilt in due time, I'A.

We all know there is NO Somali city that can even come closer to Xamar in its glorious days, let alone compare.

Horta,when does a somali stop being ciyaal(waxaas). I have seen grown azz men in the malls, calling themselves, "ciyaalka xaafada", where is this xaafad first of all and 2ndly, When does a grown azz xamarawi stop calling himself and others ciyaal so and so? You Muqdisho ppl are something else.

Just for the record I have been in MMA's home. I am sure he was too young back then. His old man was biggie and their home was quite big sitting on a sizable real estate. I played boojo in the neighborhood. I was grade 6 at the time.

 

 

As for Xamar -- what can I say!! Have a nice memories. The place has left a permanent mark in my head.
