PARIS (Reuters) -

An Air France plane on its way from Brazil to Paris has disappeared from radar screens, the Paris airports authority said on Monday.

Flight AF 447 had 228 people on board, Air France said.

It left Rio de Janeiro on Sunday at 7 p.m. and was expected in Paris on Monday at 11:15 a.m. (0915 GMT), a spokesman for the airports authority said.

Its last known location was unclear.

An Air France-KLM spokeswoman in Amsterdam said there had been no radio contact with the missing plane "for a while".

The people on board are 216 passengers and 12 crew.

The plane was an Airbus 330-200, airport authorities said

It is very scary indeed, and the journey is 11 hours from Rio to Paris, so no fuel would remain even if it were to remain on air all that, even to make a divert landing on the coast of Africa would have taken hours laakin waala maqli lahaa soo ma ahan in case of any emergency landing in near coast Africa.

Technical circuit failures were generated by onboard computers after 4 hours flyin into the air, this happened after daming storms and lightining, then the plane dissapeared from the Radar screens in Paris and in Rio.

It is now believed that the doomed Air France had crashed, but yet nothing is found to prove that, search continues!

omg i took exactly the same flight a year ago from rio and it took off the same time 7pm flight to paris. Ilaahey waxaan ka baryey inuu badbaadiyo. There's always a constant band of heavy showers and lightning in the area that hoes from venezuela, brazil through to africa and causes a lot of turbalens.

The irony is that aircrafts & flight safety is a quite specialised field with lots of regulation; yet, the relevant accidents are almost anecdotal in comparison with the tsunami of human engineered suffering that could so easily be prevented or mitigated.

Nuune, it seems the Enac in Toulouse with its master in that sub-specialty is world-leading; a relative of mine insists on toping-up his 5 years degree with that one.

While that field is hardly a priority for us, is it at least the best choice in that reagrds?

^^ Abuu Salmaan, I am glad your relative is interested in that field, and personally, I see it as the best field to be, good luck to him, I love anything to do with Aviation.

Nuune,

Is there any difference between the way the Airbus A330 and Boeng 777 tackle turbulence?

These days I avoid A330s because they seem old.

Even if they survived the crash, all the sharks in the ocean, They are all dead meat.

Accidents are part of life, nothing scary about it.

It all depends how they are built, da fuselage, da engines and what shape are their wings etc, but both do have good record of tacklin turbulence that is why you don't hear much disasters about turbulences in boeing 777 & airbus A330

Sxb both Boeing 777 & A330 were introduced in the early 90s, both went business at the same times, so A330 isn't old and it has a history of no accident specially the the model that went missing on Sunday, and it gives you more comfort than Boeing 777 which is prototype of 747, even A330 was built from the wide body of A340, fierce competetion there between the two giant airline manufactors, ofcourse boeing 777 can take more passengers than A330, but A340 can beat the boing 777.

I love the competetion between the two giants.

And my favorite is A340, JUST OUTSTANDING.

PS: It is soo strange that with all the technology available that an airline so big enough can go missing, some rumours suggested that jinni baa dafey, that is ofcourse comes from Fadhi ku dirirka Soomaalida.

Some are saying Yehood baa ka danbeesa

Don't think I've been on an A340 (maybe on Qatariya??)

I remember going on the A330 back when it was new and thought WOW. But now it just looks tacky, on the inside anyway.

A380 baan u soo raci meeshiinaas (UK).

Airbus in general has amazing safety records, and I always felt safe onboard (which is more than I can say for those DCs with the tail engine).

I hate plane crashes. Reminds you how scary flying is.

Now don't get me wrong. I'd love to be the pilot, because I love planes and flying. But entrusting your life to someone you've never met, someone you've never even SEEN... It can be scary.
