galbeedi Posted March 14, 2018 OO,lllwill we have family between Somalland and Jijiga who travel there on weekly basis. If there is an extra shirt or a killo of food they take way from you or wil ask you to pay more money than you can afford. People line up more than six hours just to pass the first check points. Sometimes the sun goes down and every one has to go back even though they were there six hours. Stop your stupid and useless garbage you throwing around by saying there is a heaven in the Kilil. Do not tell me those who are chewing qat and over eating in Jjijga hotels from the money thrown by the Tigray to ruling class. The regular people are suffering, and there is no free movement. Free trade and prosperity will never happen in Somali kilil unless there is a real change in Ethiopia which in turn might give the Somalis a room to breath and talk and trade freely. We know better. You land Addis, and every thing is fine; you travel through Diredawa and things might not be bad at the road, Yet the moment you enter the Somali zone , hell on earth starts whether it is the 70 years old grandma or a young man. They will insult and harass everyone. So please spare your BS.

Don't forget that the Somalis from the kilil do not require visas to cross the border into Somaliland and set up businesses in Berbera and elsewhere as they already do. Economic growth in Somaliland will benefit not only Somalilanders but Somalis from the kilil as well.

Even if there is strict check at the border depending of what information the agencies both sides get and share, it benefits both Somalis in keeping their mutual security and safety. What galbeedi is missing is that the Somali kilil has complete trust and proven reliability of keeping its territory by itself with no need of having soldiers from different cultures and societies roaming the kilil. galbeedi Posted March 15, 2018 Tallaabo, there are huge opportunities for the five and half million Somalis in the zone, especially who those live east of Dire dAwa , Jijiga, Awbare, Godey and between. THey did worse things in dire Dawa from 1991-2014. Dire Dawa used to be a vibrant town with full of Somali traders and residents. THe Djibouti train declined and the WAyaane cordoned any business activity that used to come from djibouti. The small contraband used by the villages surrounding the city were flooded by Tigray finance police and every fabric and shoes from djibouti were confiscated. Eventually, the people of the city became stagnant. tHe only trade that passes through the city was Wayaane shipping trucks and trade headed to Addis and Mekale. almost every businessman and the local people of Dire DAwa went Djibouti . THen the city was flooded by Oromo unemployed peasants to fill the gab. THen when the wAyaane took the census , and lo and behold the city is no longer a Somali town. It is called economic strangulation. Berbera could take advantage of these somalis, but the Wayaane will never allow open trade among somalis. on the issue of Galbeedi dancing for Illey, i was wrong. I have seen the developments and the hundreds of millions mostly foreign aid thrown to Jijiga and the spread things were done in terms of development. It was true , unlike Hargeisa, Borama or other cities, he cleared the streets and built open bulevards and , Jijiga has used modern urban planning. So, I should say that he done some good things, but when every region in Ethiopia is becoming open and free, he went the other way, and increased his oppression. Finally, Mr. Tallaabo, we are moral people and will never support injustice and tyranny among Somalis. If he is smart, he would create a commission to plan for the future of the region when the imminent collapse of Ethiopia comes in the near future. Oo, was even saying that there are Somali skilled workforce in the Zone to work i Bereber. Go figure.

There are Somalis that worked on the roads and railroad Djibouti-Ethiopia with good practical experience and university degrees. They can work in Berbera and the roads between kilil and Somaliland and everything in between. Of course has to be for DP world salaries, otherwise they work for government corporations now good jobs and good pay.
