Deeq A. Posted March 11, 2018 The leader of Wada-Jir political party in Somalia, Hon. Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame, an arch rival of Somali president Farmajo has thrown his support to the tripartite agreement aimed at developing the port of Berbera. Somalia’s main opposition leader has called on Farmajo’s govt to respect the deal which was signed among Somaliland, DPW and Ethiopia. Mr. Abdirahman siad that the Berbera investment is in line with a deal signed between Somaliland and Somalia in Brussels in 2013 which stipulated that the world treats with SL authority as legitimate government. The deal in Brussels further called that any development should not be hampered or to impede politically by both sides and called on Somalia authority to adhere to its pledge. Hon. Abdirahman has urged that the Federal Govt must review the terms of the pact in lieu of rejecting the investment undertaken by UAE based DPW to rejuvenate Berbera port in Somaliland.
