President Says Somalia is waging war against Somaliland

Somaliland’s Head of State, Musa Bihi Abdi has categorically rebuffed the rejection of Somalia concerning the agreement signed between Ethiopia, Somaliland and United Arab Emirates (UAE) logistics company DP World.

Somaliland President made the remarks in a speech made during the commemoration of int’l women’s day in Hargeisa on Thursday.

The president has talked about the long standing conspiracies that Somalia leaders staged against the republic of Somaliland which has already set its house in order despite lacking int’l recognition.

Hon. Musa has said that the recent statement from Somalia’s PM is a clear indication of the hatred and animosity that Somalia politicians are setting traps for Somaliland which is seeking investment for its territory.

Mr. Muse has spoken of the injustice subjected to his people starting from day one when the union of Somalia (South) merged with Somaliland (North) in the 1960’s which the unity govt was not formed on fair basis.

The president clearly stated that the capital, the PM post, the army, the police commissioner, the house parliament speaker, and two cabinet ministers were appointed hailing from Somaliland.

The president reminded the Somali-Norwegian PM that he does not know the history of Somalia and Somaliland and is emulating his predecessors on Somaliland’s subjugation.

He talked about the carnage of the 1988 emancipation war were 50, 000 of innocent civilians from Somaliland were killed by the military junta led by the former deceased president of Somalia Siad Bare.

Mr. Musa has made clear that Somaliland gained its freedom and Independence by shedding blood and further reminded that the speech is clear sign that Somalia has declared war with Somaliland from now on.
