Ethiopian Transport Minister Arrives in Hargeisa for Trade talks with Somaliland govt officials

HARGEISA–A delegation led by Ethiopia’s minister of transport, Hon. Ahmed Shide arrived in Hargeisa yesterday. The Ethiopian delegation will stay in Hargeisa for couple of days as they will hold bilateral trade talks with Somaliland officials in order to further implement the terms of a deal signed between the two countries. Somaliland authority inked a deal with Ethiopia pertaining to the use of Berbera port which Dubai Ports World assumed managing the port. Ethiopia agreed to take 19 percent share of Berbera port investment where it will bank on its import and export. The transport minister and his delegation were greeted at the airport by country’s foreign minister, Dr. Sa’ad Ali Shire and is due to meet with Somaliland’s Head of State, H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi.
