Che -Guevara Posted February 17, 2018 The US Government opposed the declaration of the state of emergency! It looks like the TPLF have not consulted with their Western benefactors.

Is there any communication between the leaders of this gobols/regions? Muse biixi, Cabdiwali gaas, farmaajo, iley, ahmed madoobe... Or did guys have others leaders in mind? Actually, Gaas knew what was coming to Xabashiland since he hadn't done his siyaaro to Adisababa in the last two months. He also got closer to Farmaajo, which dying leadership of Xabashada/Tigrey didn't like.

Tillamook Posted February 17, 2018 42 minutes ago, Oodweyne said: Aha, funny you should say that. You see sniffing some of the "verbal doodlings" of the teeming ninnies from Pirate-land, like you, I seems to get a nasty sting on the nostrils, particularly of the kind that will "waft" from the back side of man who is out on the woods, minding his own business, who then run in to a Bear out to find his lunch on the same woods. Hence, I am sure you may have smelled something that has the pungent odor of nonsensical air about it when you come to read the likes of Ducaale. But, on the other hand, reading your contribution and others of your kind, I get the sick feeling of getting on both nostrils the nausea-inducing smell of a full shit-bag wrapped around one's nose (as it were).. ^lol From a troglodyte that likes to eat his own regurgitated vomit for breakfast, that be a compliment indeed. I suspect, Oodka, you are the only man found in the Guinness Book of Records for being long past the point of putrescence, both morally and physically. I could be wrong, maybe you should refute it in a hundred page essay, eh?!

Old_Observer Posted February 18, 2018 19 minutes ago, Holac said: What is the latest from the Addis OO? lol Addis means maybe not Tigray The latest is everyone is taking a break, a breather The Oromo now are hoping that American opposition to state of Emergency maybe a window that Tigray and America are at odds. The worst thing one can do in such a situation is not understanding the players interests and simply following pronouncements and facebook postings. The Egyptians are throwing every thing even the kitchen sink to this one, but they are at disadvantage. Eritrea, Sudan, Somalis almost all are not cooperating. They all sense the danger to themselves. There is also deep discussion among Oromo that if things go out of contol and they become a country by default, what next. All their neighbors do not have long lasting or deep good relations in past. It takes time and hard work to establish new. Becareful what you wish for applies here to everyone. You might get it. Sometimes by what looks like accidentally even though no accident in politics. Amhara is regional exactly like the kingdoms that existed 19-20th century. It still has influence on its actions, groups organizations. The strongest organizations are the old kingdom named and associated that way. Believe it or not, the king makers are Somali, Afar, Sidama, Welayta who ever gets support of these will make it through in the short term even against some big powers wishes. In the long term of course the big powers outside win. It has now become very common for aspiring politicians to mention Somali Afar Welayta just out of the blue. This was not done before, its very recent.
Che -Guevara Posted February 18, 2018 U.S. Embassy Statement on the Ethiopian Government’s Declared State of Emergency We strongly disagree with the Ethiopian government’s decision to impose a state of emergency that includes restrictions on fundamental rights such as assembly and expression. We recognize and share concerns expressed by the government about incidents of violence and loss of life, but firmly believe that the answer is greater freedom, not less. The challenges facing Ethiopia, whether to democratic reform, economic growth, or lasting stability, are best addressed through inclusive discourse and political processes, rather than through the imposition of restrictions. The declaration of a state of emergency undermines recent positive steps toward creating a more inclusive political space, including the release of thousands of prisoners. Restrictions on the ability of the Ethiopian people to express themselves peacefully sends a message that they are not being heard. We strongly urge the government to rethink this approach and identify other means to protect lives and property while preserving, and indeed expanding, the space for meaningful dialogue and political participation that can pave the way to a lasting democracy. https://et.usembassy.gov/u-s-embassy-statement-ethiopian-governments-declared-state-emergency/

Che -Guevara Posted February 19, 2018 Egypt accepts delay of Ethiopia dam meeting as protests rage CAIRO — Egypt’s Foreign Ministry says it accepts Ethiopia’s request to delay a meeting about a dam that Ethiopia is building on the Blue Nile River, after Addis Ababa declared a state of emergency amid the worst anti-government protests in decades. The meeting, which was to discuss contentious issues over the dam, which Egypt fears could reduce its share of the Nile waters, was to include Sudan and take place in Khartoum on Feb. 24-25.
