Somaliland Minister Urges Increase production, reduce imported food

Somaliland’s minister for agricultural development, Hon. Ahmed Mumin Seed has called increased production by the country’s farmers, and a reduction in the quantity of food imported from overseas. The minister is calling that this would alleviate poverty and would reduce the banking on imported food from abroad. The minister has made the remarks in a television interview and this will be the last plea of the new government to encourage farmers tow grow more to attain food sufficiency. Hon. Ahmed has said that the ministry is conducting research investigations into complaints from farmers that have expressed their gripe over lack of seed quality.
