Kismayo —Great Britain will step up its humanitarian support to Somalia generally, and particularly Jubaland State, the UK ambassador to Somalia said on Saturday.
David Concar told president of Jubaland state of Somalia
that the government of the United Kingdom will double its support in terms of humanitarian, economy and security to build a better future.
President Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe) told Ambassador Concar that his authority’s top priorities are education, training Police forces and proper reintegration for the returned nationals from foreign refugee camps as well as security and the fight against terrorism.
President Ahmed Madobe thanked UK government for its humanitarian support and other services in Jubaland and urged to continue providing the assistance based on the priorities in Somali peoples’ matters and concerns.
Ahmed Madobe attended a graduation ceremony arranged by the Kismayo University last week in which he praised the Rising number of Jubaland schools and Universities enrollment.
Great Britain provides training to Somalia’s National Army to help Somalia’s fight against Al-Shabaab, one of the World’s deadliest groups. Scores of British troops are in presence in  Kismayo, Jubaland and often train in Police for investigation skills.
