Diaspora funded health facility opens in Adado, Somaliland

A new health facility opens at Adado, a town which locates 25 km north of Borama, Awdal’s provincial capital. The facility is intended to provide healthcare and services to farming communities which falls under the authority of Baki district. Majority of the inhabitants are astrologists and farmers which do not have access to healthcare system. Diaspora community from Adado funded the facility to be constructed after having seen the desperate need of the inhabitants. Former Mayor of Borama, the late Ibrahim Magan Nur has been named as the new health facility center opens. The center opens its doors to more than 7 villages in Baki and nearby areas. The center has been built in line with Somaliland’s ministry of health and consists the following:-

  1. Maternity Ward
  2. Outpatient room
  3. Patient Ward
  4. Vaccination Room
  5. Pharmacy
  6. office
  7. Storage facility room

The facility is spent up to 45 000 US dollars raised and collected from diaspora community from the region. Government ministers the likes of Agriculture, industry, deputy health minister, governor and Mayor of Borama attended the opening ceremony.
