IL CAPO Posted August 12, 2004 London - A mother waited 41 days for her son to come out of a coma - then he woke up and swore at her. Joan Hopkins, 39, cried with relief, despite her son's language, reports The Sun. She said: "I told the nurse I'd know when he was getting better because he'd swear at me. "At that moment he told me to 'f@ck off'. "It was such a relief - it was his way of telling me he was going to be all right. He hasn't stopped talking since." The son had been in a coma since a car smash. He now faces up to two years to recover fully from head injuries, a collapsed lung and a broken neck and back.
