Somaliland President chairs the Council of Ministers meeting

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E Musa Bihi Abdi, has chaired the meeting of Council of Ministers to discuss various issues on the agenda of the government. The Vice President, Abdirahman Sayli’i and ministers attended the 3rd session of council of ministers gathering held at the presidential mansion on Thursday. The meeting presided over by the president held lengthy debate over the recent attack launched by Puntland to Somaliland army stationed in Takaruq.

The following points have been issued after the end of the meeting:-

1. The government of Somaliland is securing its borders as it has said before and will not allow any foe to launch aggressive attacks in her land.
2. Somaliland authority apprises of the neighboring countries and the international community that it is committed to the peaceful coexistence and maintaining the stability of the region.
3. The council of ministers fully stand by Somaliland’s patriotic men and women in boots who acted in a brave way in defending the country’s borders.
4. The council of ministers commend the stance taken by the parliament chambers.
5. The council of ministers have been assigned to assess the tasks in charge by foreign nationals where citizens are capable of doing.
6. The ministers have formed committees which will be as follows:-

7. a.       Security Commission ———– 5 ministries

   b.       Finance and Development Commission ——-9 ministries

   c.       Labor affairs commission — 9 ministries

   d.       Foreign affairs and recognition seeking commission—– 6 ministries

   e.       Justice commission——– 6 ministries
