It discusses USAID’s efforts in expanding access to quality secondary and non-formal education for over 100,000 youth, with activities that ranged from teacher training in effective instruction; construction and rehabilitation of classrooms and other school facilities in 60 schools in 15 of the 18 regions of Somalia, including 21 schools in south central Somali communities that had no access to education; and civic engagement activities such as sports tournaments and National Youth Days to engage youth and build their capacity to set their priorities on issues that affect them.
