Somaliland aims to attain self sufficiency in food production.

This was disclosed by the minister of agriculture, Hon. Ahmed Mumuin Seed who officially opened three day meeting which saw the attendance of protagonists who are expected to come up with the best possible way to reach self reliance in food production. The current president campaigned to achieve self food production in Somaliland and this is in line with the national plan. The minister has not announced the time frame for attaining the target in encouraging local production. Somaliland agriculture stake holders have also participated as they are about to brainstorm ways to surge local production and this will reduce the imported food from overseas.
