Deeq A. Posted December 18, 2017 ANKARA–Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh will pay a two-day official visit to Turkey starting on Tuesday, Turkish Presidency announced on Monday. In a statement, Presidential Press Office said, Guelleh will arrive in the capital Ankara on Dec.19, on invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. His visit came two years after Erdogan’s visit to Djibouti. The two presidents will discuss political, economic, commercial, military and cultural relations between their countries, the statement said. Cooperation opportunities, as part of Turkey’s Africa Partnership Strategy, and current regional issues concerning the two countries will also be discussed in the meeting, it added. In 2005, Turkey’s official outreach to Africa gained new momentum when, Erdogan, then prime minister, declared 2005 the Year of Africa, and Turkey was accorded observer status by the African Union.
