Djibouti, Somaliland border crossing open 24 hours, says immigration

LAWYO ADDO–Head of Djibouti’s Immigration Police, Mr. Abdilahi Abdi Faarah declares that Lawyo Addo  border checkpoint will be open 24 hours. The Officer made the remarks during a function which was meant to open brand new building constructed for Djibouti immigration police. The border crossing, which is the main entry point to Djibouti from Somaliland used to open 8 am to 8 pm daily.

He said that the main objective behind the border opening 24 hrs is that it will boost trade between Somaliland and Djibouti. Somaliland treasury minister, Ms. Zamzam Abdi Aden who was invited to attend the opening ceremony of brand new building for Djibouti immigration has stressed the importance of the border crossing between the two nations. This will be the first time in history once Djibouti government announces  that border crossing in Lawyo Addo open around the clock. At the latest, it will come into effect from the day that the head of immigration broke the news.
