Does newly elected Somaliland president Muse Bihi, would be the second Mgufuli for Africa for fighting the corruption?is the newly elected Somaliland president, he was a Somalilander politician and former military officer. During the 1970s, he served as a pilot in the Somali Air Force under the Siad Barre administration. In 2010, Bihi was appointed the Chairman of the ruling Peace, Unity, and Development Party (Kulmiye) in the self-declared Republic of Somaliland. in November 2015, Bihi was selected as the party’s Presidential Candidate at the 5th central committee convention. [Muse Bihi is fluent in English, Arabic and Russian.

Musa Behi went to Hargeisa and Amoud Schools for his primary and secondary education respectively. As one of the top achievers in his year’s GCC exams in the country, he was among a group of high achievers selected to go to the former USSR to study aeronautics in “Gagarin Air Force Academy”. Upon successful completion, he became a fighter pilot for the then Somali Air Force and effectively took part in the Ogaden War; providing air support to the then 21st Division of the Somali Army. He quickly rose through the ranks and was rewarded with another scholarship, this time in the US’s West Point Academy where he earned his second Degree.

In 2010, Mr Bihi obtained another Masters Degree in Conflict Resolution from the faculty of Peace and Conflict Studies of the University of Hargeisa. He obtained this Masters Degree while he was working in a very busy political environment.

In 1985, he left the Somali army and joined the Somali National Movement (SNM) that successfully ousted the Somali dictator’s regime after a long armed struggle. Muse Bihi has been elected to the Fifth Somaliland democratically elected president mid-November 2017 with absolute majority President Musa have been strongly campaigning that he will fight against corruption, poor governance and preached to reform the health and judiciary sectors for the whole country, Muse supporters always relay on his clear strategic vision and strong leadership style.After the rebirth of Somaliland, Col. Muse Behi Abdi played a vital role in the reconciliation process of Somaliland clans in Burao, Berbera, Sheekh and Borama.
