Somaliland outgoing president congratulates president-elect

Somaliland outgoing president HE Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo speaking on behalf of his government and the people congratulate on President Elect, Hon. Musa Bihi Abdi and Deputy President, Abdirahman Abdilahi Sayli’i. In an announcement by the president’s office on Tuesday stated that the incumbent president who will transfer power has prayed that the President Elect will smoothly execute the presidential duties and asked that the almighty Allah will make this tasks easy for them. The incumbent president has called on the new president to unite the nation and to do justice for all.

The outgoing president has reminded his successor that he is now the Head of State for those who voted for him, voted against him, abstained voters and those who did not cast their votes. The president has lauded the two main opposition parties that participated the presidential campaign. Mr. Silanyo has praised the courageous actions that both defeated candidates have conceded defeat and accepted the presidential election outcome. He said that both parties have shown a high sense of maturity.

Incumbent President Ahmed Silanyo will leave office within a month once the President Elect is sworn in to office. He has retired from politics after serving as SL Head of State for 7 years.
