History repeats itself, they said. It surely is.

 

Yaa xasuusto SRRC (Soomaali Reconciliation and Restoration Council), the hastily formed group in early 2001, purely to oppose the first glimmer of hope Soomaalis then had with the nascent transitional goverment (TNG) after a decade of mayhem.

 

Itoobiya hastily facilitated the meeting that formed this group in Ceelbarde, Bakool, in early 2001, choosing its first "chairman" as Xuseen Caydiid, with Maxamed Dheere ku xigeenkiisa. Other high-profile members of the group were Shaatigaduud and C/llaahi Yuusuf.

The newly convened Somali Reconciliation and Restoration Council (SRRC) will start work next week, Mogadishu faction leader Husayn Aydid told a press conference in the

Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa

, news agencies said. The SRRC was formed in March by most of the southern faction leaders opposed to Somalia's Transitional National Government (TNG), following talks hosted by Ethiopia. Aydid, the current chairman of the SRRC, said on Sunday that the council would work from its headquarters in Baidoa, 250 km southwest of Mogadishu, with an operational office in Mogadishu. The SRRC had six months during which to organise a reconciliation conference inside Somalia, Aydid told journalists. Aydid also accused Egypt (today Turkiga) and Saudi Arabia (today Qadar) of funding arms purchases for the TNG. He criticised Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Yemen for officially recognising the TNG, and appealed to the Arab League to "stay neutral" on Somalia.

Fast forward to Kismaayo meeting in Oktoobar, 2017, with new faces but same failed foreign agents pushing their Soomaalidiid agendas through Soomaali ku sheeg aanan damiir lahayn.

 

Xaaf is the new Caydiid

Shariif Xasan is the new Shaatigaduud

Gaas is the new C/llaahi Yuusuf

Axmed Madoowe is the new Gabyoow

 

Caydiid, Shaatigaduud, C/llaahi Yuusuf, Gabyoow were all part of SRRC. At least then pointless and useless flags were not placed in front of them.

That is exactly the same scheme. In 2001, Ethiopia openly pushed the formation of SRRC, because they knew no Somali could do anything or willing to reject their agenda.

 

Fast forward in 2017, the Ethiopian plot is rejected and exposed by all Somalis, and now they are using Ahmed Madoobe and others without showing their hand. History repeats itself and those who fail to learn from the past will repeat it again.

 

In my book, most of them are spies and warlords, but for their own tribes they are heroes and saviours.
