Gheelle.T Posted March 17, 2016 This is a great development for the region. Kudos to those behind the project.
Che -Guevara Posted March 17, 2016 Tallaabo, The money came from Pland Government, business community, tax on utility and communication companies, tax on school fees and diaspora. Traditional and religious leaders have also taken on upon themselves to collect money. The collection will be ongoing. The first phase of the project would be from Ceeldaahir to Baran. http://allsbc.com/daawo-barnaamij-gaar-ah-wadada-ceel-daahir-iyo-cerigaabo/ I think the project will start in April. We, Somalis, need to stop being beggars, dhib waaye hadee gacanta kaa horeeso markasta. Baryo badan waa la isku nacaa. There's a project to build coastal road from Xamar to Hobyo. It's my hope Puntland and Somaliland will build on that road, just imagine from Xamar to Zaylac. We might be politically divided, but at least we can hope for people to people movement and commerce can increase.
Tallaabo Posted March 18, 2016 Che is there an agreement between the governments of Somaliland and Puntland for the construction of this road?
Che -Guevara Posted March 18, 2016 Tallaabo, I don't think there is an agreement. I, personally, don't think the road will reach all way to Ceerigaabo, but it definitely cover most of W community territory. I don't see Sland antagonizing W community by opposing this project, something that's badly needed. But you never know.
Saalax Posted March 18, 2016 ^ There is a agreement between the Big Beard community and the Badhan community on this road from what I heard. It will be good for Sanaag economically since it will have easy access to dock goods from low tax Bosaso port. As-long as politics is not involved it will definitely work in the area. What people don't know is Bosaso port made more Sanaagian businessmen millionaires compared to Berbera.
Holac Posted March 19, 2016 ^ Smart move the Big Beards. The road will be used by everyone so why not let them build it.
