Che -Guevara Posted March 6, 2016 Despite my opposition for Somaliland's secession, I always hoped that they would setup a system of governance that encourages economic development, social mobility and civic involvement, a system that discourages tribal tendency and calls for loyalty to the nation and state. Sadly, that's not the case today. And the politics seemed to have corrupted traditional leaders who align themselves with politicians, politicians who want the traditional leaders to deliver votes from their respective clans. All you hear is reer hebel kalsoonida ay kala laabteen Kulmiye, Wadani or UCID.
Saalax Posted March 6, 2016 Che-Guevara Very true. Interestingly though this wasn't the case during Riyaale's reign, we had a very nationalist fever under his reign.

galbeedi Posted March 6, 2016 Saalax, we all know Siilaanyo aggravated the clan issues that was cooking under the current, but you can not possibly support a warlord Suldaan. Siilaanyo may have done a lot of mistakes, but this time , he is at least up holding the law by denying " Budhcad Hubaysan" to target the police. You can attack or speak against the politicians , but the police is a sacred institution. Without the police , you will have anarchy, Who can catch the armed criminal at night or those who would like to take laws in their own hand (the vigilantes). Tribal insurgency or the regional ones could be explained, but armed gangs taking the law in their own hand is a dangerous path. Since when are people allowed to take their 20 hector village and joined their tribal brethren's. . IThis becoming the case of Gaalkacayo divided by lines, If this is the case , these Habros have wasted 25 years , by arguing clan demarcations in 2016. You keep hearing people saying " magaalo Heblaayo anagaa leh". By the way, this warlord is the Suldaanka Guud ee West Hargeisa. He should have given this task of bombastic rhetoric to one of his lieutenants.
Saalax Posted March 6, 2016 Where did I said I support him. He might be a nuisance to Silanyo but I don't support what he did in Hadayta, Awdal couple of weeks ago. I agree it is important we respect the police institutions, but it is difficult to do that in Sland nowadays when they are getting more corrupt and are clearly trying to aid their communities such as what happened in Sahil ( Ceel Garde port fiasco), impartiality is going out of the window. My stance is the police and army should be as fair as possible to the different communities of Sland otherwise people will lose confidence in it like in south Somalia such as clan based SFG troops wearing "shaadh dawladeed" attacking Marka civilians. Actually the habro, their daraawiish in-laws, the pirates, and your fellow cagdheer are the worst culprits when it comes to tribalism. The form of tribalism practised by these four groups is nothing less than pre-Islamic jaahiliyah and is fully responsible for the downfall of the Somali nationhood.
