In his interview this guy Cabdisalam raised issues of governance and power abuse by C/weli and his men. It has been well known in Puntland that whom ever comes to power immediately installs his clansmen to control military, security and media. Last year a local militia from Garoowe took over the Puntland television after C/weli tried to replace them. This guy is complaining about intimidation, clan domination, sanctioned murders and others issues.

 

All this issues could be the barking of a disgruntled politician, but the my main argument is you can not rule and manage the affaires of the government like the old ways. People need to elect their own governors and have local representation. They must collect their taxes and spend as they wish and need. Their are more security apparatus running in Boosaaso than regular police. Assassinations and murders are not usually resolved, so you need to address the grievances of the people.

Galbeedi, this guy was the governer of Bari for the last five years and was only replaced few months ago by Abdiwali. If it is true that his grievances are legit did they just came about now and did not exist in the last five years. That is why many of his clansmen are not buying his BS and right now he is on the run.

 

I believe some disgruntled former officers are targetting Abdiwali hiding behind sub-clan grievances just becouse he is professor and new comer to the Puntland affairs to get concessions for their own personal gain. Otherwise they wouldn't dare doing sometging like this to Faroole or Abdullah Yusuf. Bosaso and Bari in general are seeing a lot of development including the runway, port refurbishment, and mini-highways. There are a lot of money going into this developments and the most people to benefit whether directly or indirectly are the Reer Baris who own most businesses and the real estate in Bosaso. Why these developnents are going to Bosaso one may ask and not to other areas in Puntland. It is because the importance of Bsaso to the whole of Puntland economy and some one to come and claim the city for his clan is being foolish. Take away the port, the airport, livestock Market and business community from other regions, Bosaso will be inhabitable desert derelict like Berbera.

Samafal, Saaxiib I wasn't happy about the racist tone of our friends, but you really explained well. The " Reer Bari", got more than the fair share of development in Puntland which makes some of the grievances unjustified.

 

We have been watching all those airports, ports and other developments in Boosaaso. I take back some my criticism.

Abdisamad Gallan is a politician that is outspoken about Bari region of Puntland and how there is a lack of transparency, corruption, and nepotism. He did an amazing job while he was governor of Bari region, the Abdiwali Gas regime replaced him with an old uneducated fellow.
