Saalax Posted November 14, 2015 Apparently Senile Siilanyo has been told who the bosses in the city are. There has been recently clashes in Ceerigaabo city in a attempt to catch the man in the military clothes (Axmed Cadiib) since he is the one who imported the weapons from Maydh but his community backed him and thus the JSL Army failed to catch him. Che -Guevara Posted November 14, 2015 Salax, This is rather unfortunate. I think tribal militias challenging the Government is a bad idea. It is no way to respond to the Government's perceived or real injustice. The last time that tribal militias attacked a central government in Somali lands, we ended up with 25 yrs of hell. The man looks like a warlord in the making.
Saalax Posted November 14, 2015 This part of Sanaag always had more autonomy different from other areas, even during Siad Bare's time he didn't dare intervene what was docked from Maydh port and it was under SNM control. So I think it is better to respect their wishes, trying to impose unnecessary taxes and control on their areas won't work. As for Axmed Cadiib he is a former SNM and Army commander, well respected in the area and has lots of support in the city, so it is not good idea to pick fights with him, it is better to leave it to the community to sort out any issues. Siad Bare failed to control what comes through Maydh, what makes Senile Siilanyo think he can http://imgur.com/IwUJxM5
Che -Guevara Posted November 14, 2015 What are their wishes exactly and how does this man figure into them?
Saalax Posted November 14, 2015 Their wishes is they don't want any state involvement in their port activities unlike Reer Awdal who are barred from even importing oil in Lughaya and Saylac. So in other words they are protecting their assets.

You ended up justifying chaos and disorder at the corner of your community SMH! There are no third ways here, if your community want import illegal arms and become above the law, they have to face the might of the state, or every other community will have their field become ungovernable. Let me put it this way, if Ciro or anyone that share clan affiliation with your community become the next SL president. What right does the guy will have to exercise authority on other areas outside his community? You either back the rule of law up, or choose to live in the chaos Nomads experienced past 2+ decades. Saalax Posted November 15, 2015 Yoniz This remote area has always been peaceful for hundreds of years until Senile Siilanyo tried to intervene in the business activities of it, that shows Silaanyo is the problem.Even if Ciro comes to power I will not advocate for too much interference in the area. The mistake you make Yoniz is comparing South Somalia and Northern Sanaag, South Somalia needs more government control however this area has the opposite effect when there is too much interference. YoniZ Posted November 15, 2015 Well, that is what someone living in the south would have told you in late eighties. We have seen how Muse Sudi started his community protection mentra in Madena market area, and ended up becoming the infamous warlord in the area. Boasting guys with RPGs in and around Cerigabo is foolish and short sighted to say the least. The guy you portrait as a hero seems warlod in the making. Northern Sanaag is just like any other area, it needs things like development and rule of law, for a meaningful life (Smuggling is not one of these)
Saalax Posted November 15, 2015 I don't see any development from the Government in Northern Sanaag and the little development is actually thanks to the local businessmen. If they are not adding anything positive to the area the least Senile Siilanyo can do is less interference.
