Dhagax-Tuur Posted August 13, 2015 Let me try and make it clearer. Ethiopia our neighbour and really once a foe of ours - it is debatable and down to one's political prospective how one sees Ethiopia today - is adding to her economy the same value of that of the country of Iceland every year. That is according to BBC documentary about Ethiopia available on the bbc radio player. To put that in prospective, the current GDP (if you can call that ) is estimated at about just over 100m USD. Ethiopia's estimated GDP for 2015 is 154b USD. Let's weep, we deserve it! I doubt we will ever catch up, unless of course things go badly wrong. Tallaabo Posted August 19, 2015 @Saalax said: Only a few elite benefit from it, majority of Ethiopians are poor. Few elites do not produce a rapidly growing economy. Ethiopia has an expanding and hard working middle class- the drivers of modern economies, and that is what is responsible for this enviable development.
