Saalax Posted May 11, 2015 Well well folks, I have told you this guy was bad news for Somaliland in 2010 elections right here in SOL, expect more damage to Somaliland. Tillamook Posted May 11, 2015 Saalax, why would you expect an unelected and inheritently undemocratic body such as the Guurti to become champions of democracy? That is just a pipe dream! If there is to be genuine democracy in somaliland, you guys should build that thing from the grassroots level. Every district and every Tuulo and town, must elect their own local leaders. This will take time of course, but if you think a son of Afweyne like Silaanyo will voluntarily give power over freely... then you've got another thing coming to you. Saalax Posted May 11, 2015 The Guurti only involved themselves the past week, at first it was left with the Somaliland election commission that set the date for 2016, The Guurti were never elected so for them to be for democracy is oxymoron. Every district, Tuulo and Town does actually elect their own mayor, the problem is the guurti and that is the most rotten part of Somaliland that needs to be changed as they make excuses and extensions for almost every government in Somaliland. You can't call yourself democracy with delayed elections ridden with inaccuracies. I have never believed in Siilaanyo even in 2010, I knew his history and background he is very seat addicted, so I never bought his election rhetoric about being for the freedom of press, democratic elections on time etc those were his slogans, I have never fallen for his crocodile tears, unfortunately some low IQ khat addicts in Somaliland fallen for it and they are paying the price today... Saalax Posted May 11, 2015 @Tillamook said: a son of Afweyne like Silaanyo. So MSB sired Senile Siilanyo at age 15 , seriously though I admit Somaliland has problems with older politicians with Siadist tendencies, it is a shame we let them warm themselves in after fighting MSB for the same reason. Holac Posted May 11, 2015 This is a big setback for democracy in Somaliland. People should reject this.

I am sure it is also not a rocket science to see that even as a united nation Somalis failed and will again fail both in unity and in division. We are simply a failed people and culture. Tillamook Posted May 12, 2015 ^ Tut, tut, Mr. Tallaabo! Such defeatist talk is why I have coined the phrase "hapless habro" Waryaa, suunka dhuuqso!! Somalia and Somalis are a great nation and people. We are merely going through a small hiccup in our history and we shall persevere and come through as one united and strong nation.
Saalax Posted May 12, 2015 Talaabo A lot of Somalilanders are starting to wake up as well.
Mooge Posted May 12, 2015 i have to give credit niyoow. Saalax saw this before anyone else and everyone was hating on Saalax because nobody understood why he was against siilaanyo. saalax knew something. niyoow once again siilanyo takes people of somaliland as bunch of fools. he believes somaliland is his marfish masquerading as a functioning state, and everyone is his obedient qaadwale. if anyone challenges him, he sends his uncle suldan Dark Mountain to ridicule and whip up clan emotions. niyoow somaliland is just finished. RIP.
Tallaabo Posted May 13, 2015 ^ We are not quite yet finished niyow. We just struggling to evict a squatter from one of our important properties.
ElPunto Posted May 13, 2015 Somalis need to rise above pointless clan loyalties. There is a fixed term for office holders in many countries around the world - barring a state of war - there should be no term extensions. By definition - seeking a term extension is ample sign of political/administrative failure and a naked hunger for power. All Somali governance systems should have recall provisions for office holders. This way unhappiness if genuine and broad based would have an appropriate and clear outlet.
