3 Muslim students murdered in North Carolina

This is absolutely horrendous. 3 Muslims lost their live in North Carolina yesterday as a result of a hate crime being committed by their White Islamophobic neighbor. Initial reports say that they were killed over a parking space, although the family of the victims dispute this and make it very clear that this man has threatened the victims before.

 

The victims were a young married couple; who were just married only 6 weeks ago. And the wife's sister was also killed. All of them shot in point-blank range.

I'm glad this story is getting the attention it deserves, and this story may be a reflection of the rising Islamophobia that's taking hold in the United States, especially over the last 12 months. The last 12 months haven't been very good for us (the rise of ISIS, Bill Maher making hateful remarks towards Muslims on national television, Charlie Hebdo attacks, etc.)

 

And the negative propaganda probably was feeding into itself until one lone gunman took it upon himself to kill 3 Muslims with a gun, at point-blank range. And he killed them over a relatively mundane issue (dispute over parking space) which I find a little hard to believe.
