The resurgence of the International support has helped fuel Mogadishu’s remarkable recovery.

After all, locals worry if Mogadishu sink or swim in river of opportunity? A question unanswered with its current mayor Hassan Mohamed Hussien, known as Muungaab.

Analysts say, Muungaab has some experience in security and operations but lacks the needed experience to run the city fully. At present, the federal government runs the city from tax collections, police force to international relations and investments.

Many locals fear federal corruption in tax collection puts the city in disadvantage position.

Meanwhile interesting rumor come to light regarding a new upcoming Mogadishu mayor/governor to be appointed by the president, a long time Somali Ambassador to Nairobi. Mohamed Ali Americo,

Widely praised ambassador, Mohamed Ali Americo has already provided significant service to Somalia and brings a wealth of experience to push the city development much further. If selected as governor, he is likely to take over local taxes and the police force off the hands of the federal.

Political analyst and lecturer at SIMAD University Abdi Abdullahi said “The next governor of Mogadishu is full of Ambitions. Don’t be surprised if he runs for president” “Mohamed Ali Americo rightfully deserves tremendous credit for re-establishing the Somali Embassy in Nairobi for the way Embassy should operate and support the local half million Somalis living in Kenya,” Abdi Abdullahi said.

Former president spokesman Abdirahman Osman known as Eng Yariisow says “If he lives up to the image he paints of himself, Mohamed Ali Nur Americo could reinvent Mogadishu as leading African city. His diplomatic experience will bring better business climate and attract more investments.”

Last month, a new Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke has taken office in Somalia as the country enters a period of political uncertainty because of a stalemate between lawmakers, Prime Minister and the president.

Somalia has lacked a national government since the fall of Siad Barre in 1991 and slowly re-establishing itself with the help of foreign aids programs.

^then you can't fcking claim a position of leadership. You have the head of state and the capital of the somali Republic. If you can't lead, give it up to those who might have a better chance of a good leadership.

HOW?? what's better than locals running their affairs like every democracy aspired to, what centralized system is, where head of state nominates for thm with disasterous outcome is seen.
