India has 1.3 billion people that's double the entire population of Africa put together. It has the worst cases of poverty and infrastructure in the world and some of the worst cases of corruption.

 

In Africa there are success stories, Namibia, Botswana, Nigeria which paid of all its debt, Ethiopia with 10% growth year in year. Africa us coming all it needs is reform, education and devolution of power back to local people. Strengthening of legislative branch, police and jails and regulations and a weakening of executive branch.

It really has nothing to do with population and this whole project cost India mere $74 m. Its fact Africa hasn't manufactured cars,planes,medical equipment,atomic bomb(that we don't need) and all the things that India who attained independence in 1947 has accomplished.Its all about education brought by stability,cohesion,dedicated leaders.Any African country or few of thm together could have accomplished same if they had the vision.We are into our 60th yr of independence and still couldn't produce(all Africa) 1000 scientists cos of corruption,tribalism,civil wars etc.....giving scholarships to your kin or to sell to highest bidder is the norm in Africa.Not a single African country can exract its mineral wealth underground nor can come up with a nail.

The cost of this trip was like 70 million dollars, and India reached Mars on their FIRST TRY, which has never been done before!

 

It costs a fraction of US and Russian missions to Mars!

 

And India has 1.2 billion people, who share a country, even though India has like 100 different ethnic groups and languages and religions and cultures, yet they can STILL get along and build a functioning democracy. India is extremely diverse yet their country is stable and peaceful. Yet if all of Western Africa became one nation, do you REALLY think it would be as successful as India? Would they even have peace?

 

Africans can't even get along. Yet Indians can. Why is that?

If it cost that much then not bad... That's a good achievement indeed. Didn't know how much it cost. It's a technological success. But India still has 300 million who live on 1 dollar a day. You measure success by Income and in statistics India has within it the same population of the entire continent of Africa living on less then 1 dollar a day.

 

Africa is majority politically backward and culturally backward. Alot of problems but their are a few success stories. What drives Asia is competition and prestige. What drives Africa is a lust for power and wealth and tribalism. Education education education best solution to Africa's problems.

Tribalism as a concept was used as a form of record and identification for cultural purposes. Tribalism itself is not the problem. God says...

Using tribalism like said barre, trying to wipe out an entire people is bad. What the problem is in somali society is the failure to move beyond tribalism into something greater. Instead of having a greater cause or objective their objective is the tribe and that's what creates chaos. If my tribe doesn't get it no one gets it. I will undermine all except my tribe. That doesn't lead to progress.
