progress of helping yourself and moving foward continues. somalia has traditional six hour work week and people leave after lunch. This will be no more under Abdiweli administration.

All civil servants will be required to work an 8 hour work day, 5 days a week or else no salary.

The most progressive and futuristic administration in the Somali lands.

If this step by step rebuilding continues, Puntland is destined for a higher place.

Puntland needs to develop as soon as possible, if I was Abdiweli I would mandate a 10 hour work day :D

We can shorten it to 8 hours once it's developed enough :D :D

I remember when I was in Djibouti, people never worked more than a few hours a day, and the streets were deserted after Dhuhr prayer, it was eerie. And it just didn't make any sense.

DrKenney, you are 100% correct. I would mandate 16 hour work day but we must take small steps forward or we will take a big step back.

there will be more revamping of Puntland governement structure soon. we are moving forward

Bosaso Airport construction will start soon and that will lead to big changes in terms of puntland development. i can't wait for the project to start. it will shake the fabric of Puntland's conscience and motivate its people to do more.

Puntlanders should have the attitude of "I don't have time to waste"....instead of being shaqola'an and just hanging out all day, which is what I witnessed in Djibouti.

That's why it never develops, even though they've had peace for the last 40 years and they're an independent country with their own port and they have French and American military bases nearby. Djibouti sits at the crossroads of all the major global trade routes, and the Djiboutians could have taken full advantage of this and made Djibouti into a 1st world nation. They don't even need oil. The Djiboutians literally had the best opportunity to make their country the "Crown Jewel" of the Horn of Africa, but they ruined their opportunities because of their carelessness and laziness. And I know I sound prejudiced right now, but you just have to visit Djibouti and you'll know I'm telling the truth. The Government is literally suppressing almost all economic activity. Djibouti is so poor that it actually receives foreign aid, which is a disgrace. It shouldn't be too difficult to lift a country of only 800 000 people out of poverty, the number of people isn't that big. I mean, Ethiopia has to deal with 95 million people, India has to deal with 1.1 billion so lifting that many people out of poverty is gonna be really difficult. But Djibouti would have been a piece of cake, they don't even have 1 million people. I sincerely hope that Puntland and Somaliland and Koonfuria doesn't follow into the same situation that Djibouti is in. And we should learn from the Djiboutians mistakes. And strive to make our land a first-world nation.

Sorry for that rant

i have to admit the work ethics of Puntlander is impressive. i once met the Director General of the Health Ministry. he was a brilliant guy but he's almost an exception. it's too hot to work in those semi-arid barren wastelands. i hope the Puntland ministries invest in air-conditioning equipment for the staff.
