More then 200 staff have been pulled out. Due to insecurity as the "president" gets bombed in his residence.

 

They are also stating the worsening security situation in mugdisho. As the number of Alshabab attacks increase

Somalia can't see far in deal with burning issues, all they live and pray for is how Somaliland could be lynched.They will keep failing no matter what.

if it is true, this is bigger than Al-shabab bombshell shattering the palace. Turkey is a nation that values friendship and Muslim solidarity. Prime minister Erdogan was the only leader who landed in mogadishu, Somalia during the famine.

 

They have been watching the ungrateful moves of Qoslaaye and company for the last few months. First, Last month the Somali President went for the coronation of a dictator in Egypt. He knew how Turkey felt about the bloodshed that going on in that country. Second, members of Somali parliament have been agitating to take away the contract given to the Turkish airport logistic company Favori LlC. Third, some Hag " mukhalisiin", have brought a Greek airline to operate from Mogadishu, Athens and Europe. Some here in the SOL, even said that there are no friends but only interests.

 

Well, this weak leadership listens Ethiopia and other Rival neighbors who wrecked Somalia for the last thirty years, while ignoring the only reliable friend Somalia has.

 

If it is true, Somebody has to pay for these blunder. If it is true we will call the removal of this week President.

Well not really. Friendships between countries can be repaired especially if the country gets itself a new President.

 

Everyone, even the Turks and Americans know that this weak President is working against the interests of his own country. So why would anyone expect Qoslaaye to behave in an honorable manner. He has 2 years left in office. If we patiently wait it out, inshaAllah we have a President who actually has a brain and knows what he's doing, and can repair our relationship with Turkey

I admire your optisim and hope but the reality on the ground is what it is. We have been talking about this for over two decades. Today there is a civil war perpetuated by the weak admin in mugdisho against none hag elements in southern and central Somalia. Kenya still sits in the southern half of the country and you the so called patriotic Somalis have not questioned it and said anything about it. 22 years later we have a govenement still being breast fed with no solid foundation of statehood.

 

Somalia is still a failed state. This cycle of death, curroption and choas doesn't look like abating anytime soon.

 

You can sack qoslaye or the next ten the fundamental truth is Somalis in Somalia I.e southern Somalia are incapable of being a nation statE therefore it would be quicker to request officially to put it under international authority formally.

 

We all know the real president is already Nicolas Kay and the thousands of Ugandans.

Yeah, all of us are idealists in our own way. But the reality on the ground speaks for itself. And I can't see any solution in the short-term. Somalia's gonna have to go through some painful growing pains. But I'm sure it'll work itself out in the long-term. Somaliland is going through some serious problems as well, so even they have to go through growing-pains

 

That's why I'm such a strong supporter of Federalism. Somalis can try whatever systems of governance that they want. As long as the Central Government stays out of the way, and stops trying to impose their will on the rest of Somalia, then I can see progress in the future.

 

The Turks have already started working with Somaliland and Puntland. This is good news. We're already witnessing the formation of states in Jubbaland and Bay&Bakool. We just need to severely limit the power of the Central Government in Mogadishu.

 

Building a nation-state isn't easy. It'll take time, it'll be very painful, but it will succeed inshaAllah.

 

And we need to get rid of the poisonous generation of Somalis who grew up during the Kacaan era. And let a new generation come forward

Again more idealism: there is rational idealism and just obsurd idealism.

 

There is no such thing as jubaland it is propped up by Kenyans and history shows that anything imposed from outside with little support and not to mention Alshabab won't survive the constant attacks are a reminder of that fact.

 

Somalia itself in the case of mugdisho is in my view lost hope: even with thousands of African merceneries villa Somalia is under attack, severe insecurity issues and choas.

 

No such thing as these so called federal states all on paper nothing actually exists on the ground and no money to back them or foundations in place.

 

Puntland has followed the trend and has ended up as impoverished back water were a few foreign passport holders come to steal from the people proof is they can't even pay there militia wages.

 

 

Somaliland is not part of the equation it left Somalia and wants nothing to do with Somalia. If mugdisho was to offer confederation and all the wealth of Somalia and capital and permanent presidency somaliland would still decline because we all know Somalia is finished

 

The only ones who believe in are the young diaspora kids who have never been to it.

Cidan, don't pretend that your Republic isn't going through many of the SAME issues that Somalia is. Sure it's peaceful, sure the Somaliland Army controls most but not all of it's territory. But they still have many of the same problems.

 

Somalia right now is plagued by tribal politicians who manipulate their people to gain power and prestige and fortune.

 

Qoslaaye is just a symptom of this disease.

 

And if Puntland can establish a functioning state in 1998 and keep it up for so many years--with all it's problems--then there will come a time when the rest of Somalia goes through the same painful stages of growth and state-building. People will die, famines will continue, and there will be border wars between these different states. But these are growing pains. Jubbaland will have to go through it, and so will Hiiraan and Galmudug and other states.

 

No one said it'll be easy, but to deny that Somalia in 2014 is in a far FAR better position than it was in 1992 means you don't know what's going on.

Good luck to all the dreamers out there who actually believe they can salvage Somalia. Puntland has been getting worse not better year on year. The curroption rate increases, they lose more land year on year, they lose more supporters year on year. It is shrinking and since 1998 it actually has not achieved much tangible success: it's not a democracy, economically bankrupt and unstable like much of the south.

 

Hirran nothing there but rivalry and civil war, the same thing in shebelede hose. Bay and bakool we al know is pretty much defacto Alshabab except the Ethiopian parts. Kismayo is Kenyan and mugdisho is Ugandan.

 

Is Somalia alive or dead ??
