Homunculus Posted June 16, 2014 For me its the Japanese culture, a culture of respect and order. Everything they do is a piece of art, there food is exquisite and their (music, anime, technology) is conquering the world. What I love the most is their respect for the elderly and their tendency to be the most obedient citizens. They are declining a little bit since they are getting older and their fear for foreigners is understandable since they were isolated for 1500 years, but a culture that produces fans who clean a stadium after a world cup game is worthy of admiration. DoctorKenney Posted June 16, 2014 I would say the Japanese too, but their lack of Islam is a MAJOR problem for me. So I'm reluctant to say that I admire the Japanese culture. But there's definitely many good aspects. The Germans too. And I also admire many of the cultural aspects of the Ottoman Turks. They weren't perfect, I know. But they were a very admirable civilization
Alpha Blondy Posted June 16, 2014 idho yar, siba the jabaaniska, are vile people, for the most part. they are anti other people. their culture is very segregationist, i've found. their culture is also internally repressive to anomalous folks. there's a high level of conformity within their culture and it's no wonder suicide is very high in their society. also they think they are so smart. Homunculus, are you a brain-dead self-hating Somali, abti? maxaa kugu kalifay inaad indho yar no xayeysiid? personally, i like the Turks. its a strong culture with no-nonsense policies. e.g - honour killings, domestic violence are all acceptable. Homunculus Posted June 16, 2014 ^^^ You don't have to insult me for stating an opinion, I'm not a self-hating Somali and I didn't even compare cultures. Somalia's culture have a lot to admire but the civil war destroyed most of it and I'm glad that the Turks are helping the people down south since they are an enlightened group of moderate Muslims. Alpha Blondy I noticed that you are an angry person, you don't need to imagine the worst in every person, before you write something try to think first and see if it doesn't reflect badly on you. It's a difficult task I know but you will reap many benefits if you think first before acting.

YoniZ Posted June 16, 2014 He who have the bucks and the propaganda machine can sell their culture as the most humane and civilized one. You can only compare cultures when you discount the bad habits forced by survival, and the hyped up social parades (including modern soap operas and the Hollywood machine)

galbeedi Posted June 16, 2014 If you judge the western cultures by their weaknesses or the influence of the external forces, like hollywood or the pop culture, definitely , you will witness the moral decay and other undesirable aspects. but if you look their institutions, rule of law, openness, transparency and creativity definitely they could be among the top. Imagine if Germans and Japanese were Muslims. They could have been the perfect societies. were Muslims. Their strong work ethics, compassion and ingenuity, combined with moral foundations of Islam , they could have been the best society. Asians are human robots without emotions, and many people will tell you they do not like charity or giving back to society especially here in north America. Turks are showing their tradition and goodness. Great people and cultures always rise up. Look at Japan and Germany , after the destruction of the second world war. they are the top economies, and these things do not come with short cut or weak traditions. remember, things are working okay here because most of the people are playing by the rules, honest and hard working, otherwise it would have collapsed. I am one of those who believe the Anglo-saxon order and rule of law are the top cultures if the moral issues were supplemented with faith.
Homunculus Posted June 16, 2014 ^^^^ I think I might be leaning towards conformity and the rule of law rather than individuality and the penchant of Anglo-Saxons to continually disrupt things. That's why sometimes I wish That Somalia have something similar to the Mormon church (without the crazy beliefs), these guys take organized religion to a whole new level. Yes it will sacrifice creativity, but i'm the sort of person who prefers order above all.
burahadeer Posted June 17, 2014 Americans, hard working like Japanese but very open and friendly, cos of their melting pot environment easy to go along with unlike the tight liped Europeans & sad faced orientals who you can hardly take conversation with. Tallaabo Posted June 17, 2014 My preference: 1. English speaking Anglo-Saxons and Scandinavians 2. Jewish (especially Ashkenazi) 3. Other Western Europeans The East Asian cultures are too alien for me.
