Tallaabo Posted March 13, 2014 There is a growing confusion as to where the body of the late legend Maxamed Saleebaan Tubeec is heading for burial. In his interviews with the Somali and international media, the elder son of the late legend made it clear that his father's wish was to be laid to rest in his hometown of Berbera. However, there are now reports about plans by the Somalia government to bury him in Mogadishu!!So what is going on here? Is the death of our beloved singer politicised too like almost everything else? Anyway, I am glad that Tubeec is going to get a good burial wherever his body ends up. Ilaahay janatul firsaws haka waraabiyo. Amiin. http://www.hadhwanaag.com/detail.aspx?id=125675 http://www.hiiraan.com/news4/2014/Mar/53571/hiba_nura_late_mohamed_suleiman_to_be_laid_to_rest_in_mogadishu.aspx
Hawdian Posted March 13, 2014 Surely the man is going to be buried where he has told his family before his dead. This should not be a political question but a time for his family and all whom know him to be left alone and say goodbye to him. Inailah wa innalh rajicuun. Holac Posted March 13, 2014 He should be buried in Berbera just to respect the family's wish.
Hawdian Posted March 13, 2014 HARGEISA,Republic of Somaliland. The Government of Somaliland will partly cater for the funeral expenses including the cost of transporting the body of the late musician Mohamed Suleiman Tubeh who passed away on Tuesday 11th March in Germany. The deputy minister for information while briefing the media in Berbera hinted that the Government would respect the wishes of the deceased singer as stated in his will adding that prior arrangements have been made to give him a state sendoff. The deputy minister for information Hon. Abdiwahid Abdikadir Abdirahman delivered the Government's plans in the presence of family & friends of the late musician and in the company of communal elders' religious leaders and regional administrators stressing that the deceased musician hailed from Berbera and would be buried as his wishes. The deputy minister said, "Tough the late Tubeh was absent from the country for quite a long period, he had however maintained contact with his relatives & family in Berbera as is evidenced in his will and as a Government we shall offer a supporting hand to the bereaved family in fulfilling the wishes of the popular music artist of the period before the aftermath of the failed union with the south". http://www.somalilandsun.com/index.php/community/5259-somaliland-late-musician-tubeh-to-be-accorded-a-national-funeral

Xaaji Xunjuf Posted March 14, 2014 Why does he deserve to have a national burial in Somaliland he was just an ordinary singer from Somaliland. I hope the SL government doesn't make to much of it, for the past 23 years of Somaliland existence did he dedicate at least one song for SL , or compose one SL song. He should be buried as he wished near his family relatives in berbera but not a national burial thats all. Somalidu waxay tidha geeljire iyo nimaanad aqoon bay geeridu ku fiicantahay
