Rio de Janeiro: Ronaldinho's hopes of a place in Brazil's World Cup squad faded on Tuesday when he was not picked by coach Dunga for their last warm-up against Ireland in London next month.

The forward, who last played for Brazil in April 2009, has put in some good performances for AC Milan lately and expectations had been high of a recall.

"Every player has chances (of a place in the squad). At this moment he isn't part of it," Dunga told reporters at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) headquarters after naming a 22-man squad.

Robinho, who has returned to Santos on loan from Manchester City precisely to try to secure a place in the Brazil squad, was included among four forwards.

The March 2 match at Arsenal's Emirates stadium will be Brazil's first of the year after an impressive 2009 during which they finished top of the South American World Cup qualifying group and won the Confederations Cup.

Brazil, favourites to win their sixth world crown in South Africa in the finals starting on June 11, are in Group G with North Korea, Ivory Coast and Portugal.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Inter Milan), Doni (AS Roma)

Defenders: Maicon (Inter Milan), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Gilberto (Cruzeiro), Michel Bastos (Olympique Lyon), Lucio (Inter Milan), Luisao (Benfica), Juan (AS Roma), Thiago Silva (AC Milan)

Midfielders: Elano (Galatasaray), Felipe Melo (Juventus), Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos), Josue (VfL Wolfsburg), Julio Baptista (AS Roma), Kaka (Real Madrid), Kleberson (Flamengo), Ramires (Benfica), Lucas (Liverpool)

Forwards: Luis Fabiano (Sevilla), Robinho (Santos), Adriano (Flamengo), Nilmar (Villarreal)

-------------

No doubt Dunga is right on this, but he may be making mistake not to include Diego as well as for including Adriano. Actually, it looks one of the midfielders will be dropped as Brazil should take 3 goalkeepers to the WC.

A&T duqa this is old news ee wax cusub keen... this team won't be the one that will be going to the world cup... Dunga is giving a chance to players from small teams but is only for this game.. do you really think Nilmar is better than Doni? or even Adriano who is really strugling?

I really don't mind if Dunga doesn't choose Ronaldinho because I want Ivory Coast to have a chance coming out of that group..with this line up, Brazil will not win the world cup....

This is the team that will play on March 2 against Ireland. This is the last friendly for brazil before they head to South Africa. So, it tell you something.

Why Ronaldinho will not be good for Brazil is because he doesn't come back and help the defence, and he exposes the team for counter-attack as he losses the ball in comical ways trying to do some tricks.

Ivory Coast might do well if they get *** Hiddinik as a coach as expected. But still, they are a piece of cake for brazil.

Tuujiye, after the World Cup, you will learn how tactical descipline is more important than technique. Ronaldinho was in 2006 team and we have seen how pathetic they were!

If Brazil doesn't win the World Cup, it won't be because Ronaldinho is missed.

Ronaldinho: I Will Win The Scudetto With Milan And Go To World Cup With Brazil Substantial promises from 'Dinho...

By Salvatore Landolina

Milan ace Ronaldinho believes he can claim the Scudetto and he will use it as a springboard to go to the World Cup with Brazil.

Four points divide Milan and Inter at the summit of Serie A, and the ace has five reasons as to why he thinks his side will come out on top if they follow his formula to success.

"We have an incredible group which is united; I believe I can give plenty to the team, and I am sure of my qualities; all the players who are on the bench can contribute at the right moment; Leonardo is a great coach because he makes good choices and he has found a serence environment; the fans are incredible," he told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

A plan which, if successful, will mean a call up to the Brazil squad from Carlos Dunga who snubbed him in next week's friendly against Ireland.

"I will try my best to convince Dunga to take me, I have good hope," he added.

"If I continue to play as I have been playing then I think that I will go."

Waa marku A&T Brazil inoo faani jirey. Just look at that midfield and tell me they will win the WC with that lol.

Dhino was part of the 2002 winning team saxib. He was part of a team built around 3 men. The current is built around no one and will not get far.

Wigad, he can be hopeful, nothing wrong with that. But if wishes were horses... And seriously I think Inter will win the seria A for they are much more composed team than the Roseneri.

Norf, I know you think James Milner is a better player than Felipe Melo (just because of the English hype) but I think England will sweat against Brazil. Did you watch the friendly? Although you may say England missed top names. Brazil didn't play with 100% potential too.

We don't know who will win the World Cup. But I know it will be between Argentina, Brazil, Germany and France. Spain and England will help to warm up the tournament.

Time will tell my friend. Milner and Mello play in different positions and are different types of players but if they were to swap positions Milner would do best.

England have a good chance and can beat a laboured Brazil who don't have the same flair as before.

Again, that midfield is useless.

Brazil is just another ordinary team in a game that has no extraordinary teams anymore. That much I conceed. but flair and no tactics was why they waited for a cup from 1970-1994. Until, they realised they cannot remain world 'entertainers' and worked on their tactics and stamina.

Let us wait and see who will progress further then. I am not a stranger to an English hype. But a team with Goalkeeper problem, which fields Rio Ferdinand at the back and still looking for a partner for Rooney is anything but great. For your information England was beateb by Brazil, Spain and any descent side that played them so far. They topped a group that has an ageing Croatian side and a mediocre Ukrain side.

Aragnee, hedde!

^^^ England is a solid team duqa and they won't see Brazil. Maybe in the semis but not the second round...I don't like England and I really don't see them winning anything but if they Play Brazil I will put my money on England to win... This new Brazil team is build to hustle thats it..and the brits are known to hustle and they only loose to teams with lots of technical players like the old Brazil.. so Abtigiis, Brazil sanadkaan waxee rabaa in ee qub iyo qac ciyaaraan.. and Roni la'aantiis meel ma aadayaan anaa ku dhahaayo loool....

I think Serbia will shock the world and slovakia..the hottest players in europe today are from does two countries and you could see the talent...so I think Slovakia could come out from that group England, USA, Algeria Slovak...
