Press Release Mogadishu - The Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia, Ambassador Mahamat Saleh Annadif has taken note of the evolving political situation in Baidoa and reiterates AMISOM’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government whose mandate is to take lead in the formation of the federal states in accordance with the Provisional Federal Constitution and enabling local government act. Two parallel political processes are on-going in Baidoa leading to the formation of the federal state comprising of the 6 and 3 regions. Delegates supporting the establishment of the 6 regions state held an election against the Federal Government of Somalia’s guidance.
