xiinfaniin Posted September 16, 2013 Very interesting indeed. But the president I thought handled it well. But the brave woman has come back with more biting questions ...

Marksman Posted September 16, 2013 What was asked by this woman and what was his response? Please share. The president talks about inclusivity and working with regional states the whole time, but I feel it's all rhetoric.

Liibaan Posted September 17, 2013 Protest overshadows Brussels conference Hundreds of Somalis against the Brussels conference on Somalia has today gathered outside the conference hall in Belgian capital, Brussels. Demonstrators in support of Khaatumo state, a newly established regional State have traveled from various countries across Europe to express their disappointment over their Regional State not being invited in to the conference on Somalia. The European Union and the Federal Government of Somalia have co-hosted “The New Deal for Somalia Conference” in Brussels aimed to endorse the “New Deal Compact” that will commit the Somali people and their international partners to a set of key priorities and new support for the reconstruction of Somalia over the next 3 years. The European Union pledged an additional 650 million euros ($862 million) in aid for Somalia on Monday to back a three-year reconstruction plan aimed at building on fragile security gains in the country. The man clearly says in the time somaliland was in las canod waay disantay and that is the reality las canod has developed under Somaliland. Wells, electricity, local governance, no guns etc. All the brouhaha is because of clan. The mayor of las canod is from las canod. All members of local government are locals. The army in sool is local. So that argument is bull... We want somali unity is the second argument. Ok using logic somaliland is technically no recognised and is part of Somalia because of it and with mercenaries running around the south and the chaos only a baboon would go down south. You guys have nothing to argue just focus on developing.
burahadeer Posted September 17, 2013 ^^^ we want Somalia unity ,hahaa so they say....no one buys that in light of how they talk about Mogadishu & present Somali leaders and in light of the fiasco in jubaland and the defacto status of puntland. It's neva ending nuisance checked only by reality. Johnny B Posted September 17, 2013 An ambush indeed, but then i hate to see "khaatumo" reduced to an issue named only on press confrences. As we speak , somewhere in that region someone is being humilated , raped, mimed and what have you , for naming "khaatumo".

Because the raping and maiming of innocent people is exclusively the hallmark of that city of yours and not anywhere in Somaliland.

Mogadishu is not seceding from the rest of Somalia through the barrel of the gun and one can safely assume the rapes, mimings and killings (commited by the militia of the dominating clan in northren Somalia) are not appreciated by the people of "Khaatumo". .
