A very silly proposition indeed. I understand the importance of this issue had there been 10 or more Yemeni islands scattered in what would otherwise be our territorial waters, which would be a threat to national security à la the Aegean dispute, but a single island would and should not be a problem as the belt of coastal waters (territorial waters and thus airspace) extends at most about 12 nautical miles which would come to about 22 km whereas Socotra is over 80km in distance.

 

Now Turkey on the other hand have a pretty rough deal :
