Haatu Posted July 12, 2013 If he said that then he said it all. The E.U. is just simply that and Turkey has no place in it and I agree with him.

Xaaji Xunjuf Posted July 12, 2013 The Turks will never be allowed to enter the European union , i dont even get why they want to be part of it, they are part of NATO , they should look else where for cooperation , Turkey's economy is growing there are other alternatives. GaraadMon Posted July 12, 2013 I consider Turkey to be unique considering it's Greek, Roman, Persian and Turkic influences. 'Eurasian' is the only term that can be used to describe them racially, but they've always been culturally distinct when compared to their neighbors. Turkey has terrible trade policies in place with the E.U, and considering their relations with nearby European countries, I'm sure most of Turkey's citizens by now understand that they would never see the full benefits of EU membership if they were to receive it (that's highly unlikely). warsamaale Posted July 12, 2013 This has baffled me as well, the economic argument for accession has well and truly been demolished by the recent Euro crisis. Their own economy is booming at rates the Euro-zone only dreams of and they still grovel to be let in. shameful!
Mad_Mullah Posted July 12, 2013 They will never be Europeans doesn't matter how much they drink, how they colour their hair blonde. How they pretend to be westernized. They will never be Europeans.
Naxar Nugaaleed Posted July 12, 2013 The obstacle to Turkish accession to the EU has nothing to do with Germany and everything to with Turkish-Cypriot relations. If they make nice with the Greek Cypriots. Its now or never but their is a guy in office in Ankara more concerned with the balance of power between xamas and the Islamic brotherhood. warsamaale Posted July 12, 2013 I disagree, it is one of the issues but the fundamental issue is; turkey is not white & christian, not part of European civilization, period.
Naxar Nugaaleed Posted July 12, 2013 if turks are not white, what heck are they? Turkey, bosnia and herzegovina, Albania are all none Christian countries that have started the process. Kosovo is up next. They are all muslims countries but lets not confuse things, they most certainly are white and of Europe.
warsamaale Posted July 12, 2013 they are asiatics just like levantines, kurds etc nobody considers turks white if you don't know but bosnians are considered white, just islamicized slavs. they integrate better and don't cause problems like turks do in germany. kosovo is tiny and manageable in their eyes but turkey is a different proposition, due to its size and population. peasant Posted July 12, 2013 I dont think the party in power now is interested at all joining the EU but they are throwing a show for a large segment of the Turkish population which are predominantly young and who are yearning to join the EU regardless. The AKP understands that turkey can be self sufficient, and can thrive without the EU membership and that is what many of their political agendas are intended to prove to the the turks and also to others. For the EU, they have a pretty strong case for refusing turkey at the moment and Greece alone is too much troublesome for them now. The Europeans can not absorb turkey's problems politically or economically because of turkey's 75 million population which is roughly the combined population of eastern european EU member states. You could not identify a turk from greek or from a Bulgarian or also even from a Romanian to an extent and that is because the turks ruled that part of Europe for a long time. Also there is little to suggest that religion is playing a role why the turks are being refused to join EU. This whole matter is a pure business. Mad_Mullah Posted July 13, 2013 LOL. Turks are white kulaha. You can tell the difference between Turks and Europeans. Some of the Coastal Turks are actually of Greek origin but converted to Turkism/Islam. It's like Sarkozy said, how can you teach kids that the borders of Europe end at Syria/Iraq and iran.
