not the SL Republic. we've more or less built what was destroyed. although, according to my uncle, nothing was really destroyed. in fact, as he's told me on various occasions....nothing has been built since, too. :D

Even the Palestinian refugee camps look better than most Somali cities.

The first two pictures remind me of Kurdistan and even Grozny that is being rebuilt with oil money and Turkish involvement.

 

Somalis lack to define and stand for national interests. And lack the political will for long term planning. That is the greatest tragedy ever. All nations have national interests and work hard for them.

 

Somalia has fiefdoms a.k.a. Game of Thrones. I still have hope though.

People think country. Somalis think Tribe. Even Somaliland, it just happens to be that their tribe has become a state.
