From what I understand, Mogadishu's strategy is to send a delegation led by a man from Gedo, if all other things fail, and dare Madoobe to stop them. Obviously, Fartaag will be asked to do that job, but this move has the potential to anger Gedo-ans and as the two sides start shooting at each other, Mogadishu will send reinforcements. Taas kama fursan doonto, hadaan xal siyaasadeed la gaadheen.

 

I am not in the mood of blaming any side at this stage. I am more worried about the vitriol and vilification of one Somali clan - Faroole's clan - who are singled out as the Jews of Somalia - in the same way Hitler singled out Jews for all ills in Europe. HAG propaganda against this clan is worrying. Likewise, SAHAL's hate for anyone that shares lineage with HAG (although does not share same philosophy) is also alarming.

 

The end of IGAD as a scarecrow has caught HAG propaganda strategists by surprise. But they have regrouped rather well and have now turned the torch on a new villain - the MJs. In the coming few weeks, expect more stories about who started the first rebellion against Siyad Barre (implying revolting against dictatorship was wrong), who led Ethiopia to Mogadishu (as if Ali Gheedi was not on the first Ethiopian chopper that landed in Mogadishu along with Yusuf), and who is the lupus of Somalia's politics. Do you sense a Deja Vu, here!

 

Don't worry if none of Sheikh Ahmed Madoobe and Fartaag are not MJ's. The omnipresent, the immanent MJ's are the cause for all that goes wrong in Somalia.

Good analysis Diktoore, but hope the two sides gets into agreement to avid war(Daqane posted that the new wafdi arrived in Kismaayo and were transported to a hotel in downtown), it is not clear whom they going to meet, but they will meet the elected president of Jubbaland, President Barre Hiiraale(as was reported by pro-government websites, midnimo, daynniile etc).

 

I haven't seen President Hassan's speech at the Addis Ababa conference, but those who watched or read the text of his speech said the mention of 'Kismaayo' in his speech outnumbered the number of times he mentioned Somalia(which was once: by telling the African leaders to come to the Somalia Conference in Japan on 31st of May 2013, 5 days from now).

Refusing the entry of a goverment delegation on Somali soil, that is quite provocating. Madobe is playing with fire.

Hassan Shiikh has no idea the limits of the power of the Presidency in the new Somalia. When his delegation is 'deported' from a Somali city - that should give him pause to try to change his tactics. There is no imperial presidency - all he can hope to be is a compromiser-in-chief to knit together a divided country.

Your right 100% . Am surprised there is no war in Kismaayo after all these provocations from both sides , I hope it stays that way. I don't like the way the government is handling this situation , I also don't like the way reer Puntland websites are covering these stories , one title reads : Waftigi DF oo Muqdisho lagu celinayo ayakoo aan Kismaayo galin.....they are just adding more fuel to the fire.

 

If a war breaks tomorrows in Kismaayo (God forbid) the ppl who will be loosing the most will be reer Afmadoow and Gedo. And then u will hear dadka walalah waa in la nabadeeyaa , dhiiga muslimka waa in la joojiya.......and now everyone is making the situation worse .

 

So lets hope that these communities understand what is at stake and avoid face to face confrontation by all means inshallah.
