The Zack Posted May 24, 2013 NGONGEYOW, I see no winner here. First of all we need to understand this is a "recommendation" by the delegates. It is not the final word. Second, the report is so vague that we are all confused about it lol.

Xasan Sheekh and J/land should sit at one table and resolve their differences without the presence of the senile vultures. Ama we will see Kenya run away with a large chunk of Somali waters. That's all they're there for. they can't! You should know that. Hassan believes in HAGism. He rather jump from a six story house than let a "D" state. Saalax Posted May 24, 2013 And those people who need Uganda, Burundi, Sierra Leone , IGAD etc to mediate between them want us to share a country with them? Bunch of clowns. No wonder south Somalia hasn't seen peace for over 22 years, learn to reconcile within yourselves.

Zack, Jubbaland is not a "D" state, just us Mogadishu is not a 'HAG' state. Wait till the reconciliation conference for Banadir starts, we will for sure demand an all inclusive admin. Jacpher Posted May 24, 2013 There may not be a winner here but definitely Hassan is the biggest loser here. Jubbaland and Madoobe team were never shy about negotiating and extending the invitation to Muqdisho to solve the issue through the constitution. They hosted a number of delegates from Muqdisho and sat down with them but in the end, Hassan declined to compromise only to accept IGAD telling him now to go back to the board room and compromise with Jubbaland, the same offer he turned down few months back. Highly doubt Hassan will get his way now that Jubaland is formed.

There is still plenty of room for manoeuvre for Madoobe & Co. However, in "gesture politics", Hassan Sheikh won this round.

Hassan wanted nothing short of appointing governors to regions as the old Barre regime did? Does this IGAD recommendation give him such authority? Hassan is the loser here for he's told to sit down with Madoobe again and again to sort things out. Jubbaland lost nothing except to try its best to convince Hassan Sheikh again. Truth is Hassan lost his initial position of telling the country, I will decide an interim admin for every region, certainly IGAD struck down that position by telling both side to go back to the tables for more talks.
